Finally ... no more QuickTime
We have finished updating all listening activities and eliminated the need for QuickTime in all newly set up courseware. These updated SCORM activities look more modern, display with the audio player embedded on the same page as the exercises, and they work on smartphones and tablets. We've also removed and/or updated hyperlinks that were no longer working in these items. Next month, a help file will be available explaining how teachers can update listening activities in their own courseware. Watch the portal, our Tweets or check with your mentor.

NanoGong migration is done
Newly set up courseware no longer includes NanoGong - or needs the Java plugin. Online speaking activities have been replaced with PoodLL assignments. So far, the reviews have been very positive; PoodLL is a major improvement over NanoGong and is easier to use. Next month, help files will be available explaining how to use PoodLL in your courseware. Watch the portal, our Tweets or check with your mentor.

What Next?
Newly set up courseware will feature embedded PBLA-compatible tools from our PBLA Demo course. These tools can assist with assessing student needs, weekly self reflections, goal setting and goal reviews. Also ahead, remaining SCORM activities (without audio) will be updated and converted to HTML5, to give them a modern look and make them responsive and compatible to different computing devices.

New group begins Learning Technology Innovation Leadership training in July
The LearnIT2teach Project provides training to managers or teachers in IRCC-funded language training programs in two six-week online courses.  Working with your peers in the language training sector, you’ll learn about the courseware, how it improves learning and teaching, and the leadership and planning skills needed to innovate with blended learning. Knowledge vs. Access to Knowledge
I ask you a question.  You are unsure of the answer, so you google it, tweet out if anyone has an answer, or use a plethora of resources that are at your fingertips. You find an answer and I call you resourceful.  I ask the student the same question, and they use your same approach you just did.  Too often they are called a cheater.  There is something wrong with this narrative....
