AeroMexico Launches Mexico City-Barcelona Route

As of 15th June, Aeromexico now serves the route connecting Mexico City with Barcelona with three direct flights per week. The Catalan capital becomes the fifth destination Aeromexico serves in Europe and the second destination in Spain.

Aeromexico is the only airline in Mexico with a presence in Europe. In 1958, the airline began serving the Madrid market, followed by London, Paris, and Amsterdam. More than 12,000 seats are available to the region every week. The itinerary for this new service is as follows:


The new route is operated with the airline’s B787 Dreamliner, one of the most modern commercial airplanes in the skies, featuring numerous advantages and extensive inflight entertainment services to ensure customer’s enhanced comfort.

Barcelona Frequency to Increase in Dec

From 10th December, Aeromexico will increase connectivity between Barcelona and the Mexican capital, increasing its service from three to five weekly flights. In addition, the carrier will launch daily service effective March 2020.

With two new flights to be added at the end of this year on Mondays and Saturdays, customers traveling from Barcelona will have even better connection options with Mexico and Latin America. The new itineraries will be as follows:

Aeromexico has made the decision to suspend the Shanghai route at the end of 2019. The last flight from MEX to PVG will operate on 13th of December, and the last service from PVG to MEX will be on 15th of December. 

Aeromexico is proud to have served the Chinese market for more than 11 years by connecting China with Mexico and despite this announcement, will continue to offer air connectivity to Asia with flights to Seoul and Tokyo. 

Customers who have purchased tickets for this route after 15th December will be protected by Aeromexico in accordance with applicable policies and regulations. 

Aeromexico will also be discontinuing the Mexico City (MEX) to Cali (CLO) service, as of September 2019. Currently served 4 times per week, reservation for travel is closed on/after 3rd September. 

The Mexico City (MEX) to Guayaquil (GYE) service, currently operated 3 times a week, will also be discontinued from October 2019. Aeromexico has closed reservation for travel on/after 2nd October.
