Merry Christmas from all at Prentice Coaches
We've had another amazing year, introducing live tracking, an app, two brand new coaches and also winning two awards!!
We have some very exciting plans for early in 2014 but as is traditional at this time of year we thought we would have a look back and remember some of the things that we achieved in the last 12 months!!
January - We were extremely proud to help our friends at Leuchie House by providing a coach to be on call for the Royal visit of HRH Princess Anne, the Princess arrived by car!!
February - We were one of around 50 companies to be founding members of the new BUSK Benchmark quality scheme. We qualified with the maximum 6 star rating
March - We know where our buses and coaches are, so why shouldn't you?
We became the first operator in the area to introduce 'real time tracking' of our vehicles through our website.

April - App-prentice is launched!!
To further enhance the information we provide our customers we became one of the first coach operators in the UK to have our own app. The app allows you to view our vehicles in real time, contact us, connect via social media and much more.
To further enhance the app's appeal we also created a unique QR code for it.

May - Our new promotional video 'An introduction to our company' made for us by Raw Film Productions is posted on our website and You Tube channel.

June - We found out that for the third year in a row, unprecedented for a Scottish Operator, we were to be finalists in the Route ONE Operator Excellence Awards. We had around a month to prepare our final submission. This month we were also visited by Andrew Cream, deputy Editor, at Coach & Bus Week magazine who wrote a great article about us entitled 'Community is Key'
You can read the article here - http://www.prentice.info/CBW%2013.pdf
July - After sponsoring the East Coast FM 'School Bell' show, which is presented by High School pupils, for the last two years this month we also started to sponsor the Saturday 'Afternoon Live' show presented by transport enthusiast Daniel Piggins
August - The first of two new coaches this year went into service this month. One of the last Mercedes Benz Vario's with a 29 seat Plaxton Cheetah 2 body. This was the first coach to carry our new logo and updated livery. We made a short film to promote the coach set to the sponsor tagline from 'Afternoon Live'
September - We started to update our existing fleet with our new livery. By the end of this month five vehicles had been updated. This is how we changed the rear of one of our Enviro 200 service buses.
October - On the evening of 2nd October we won 'Small Fleet - Coach Operator of the Year' at the Route ONE Operator Excellence Awards which were held at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham and attended by 720 guests. This is the second year in a row we have won one of the operator awards, which is unprecedented, after winning the 'Medium Fleet' category at last years awards. The award was presented to us by former BBC newsreader Angela Rippon, Route One editor Mike Morgan and award sponsors Volant Commercials Mark Baker.
You can see how we found out we had won here - http://youtu.be/l43KE5PEcc4
To make October even more memorable we were delighted to be presented with the 'Best Family Business 2013' award by the MELCC Chamber of Commerce at their annual awards dinner on 30th October at the Eskmills Function Suite in Musselburgh.
November - Our second new coach of the year, the first of the new Plaxton Leopard's, takes to the road. We were sworn to secrecy for many months after ordering this brand new model of coach, which has a Volvo B9R chassis. Plaxton asked us not to reveal anything about it until they launched it at Coach & Bus Live, in early October. Ours was the second one built, but is the first one registered and on the road. It features 59 reclining seats all fitted with 3 point seat belts and is fully air conditioned.
December - This month we uploaded our new infomercial, and in what is an industry first it's filmed entirely in 3D. The film is set to our latest East Coast FM radio advert, which you can hear on 107.6 FM, and was filmed using the Go Pro 3D camera system. This links two Go Pro's together in a special housing to create stunning visually deep 3D video. To fully appreciate the video a pair of anaglyph (Red / Blue) 3D glasses are essential, although you can still watch the clip without them.

What a busy year, how did we fit everything in!
We hope all our friends and customers have a good festive period and we look forward to providing the same high standard of service that we have become renowned for next year and beyond.
Our new Plaxton Cheetah featured in the centre pages of an issue of Coach & Bus Week magazine as the 'Big Picture' of the week back in August.
Our Plaxton Leopard was the subject of a road test and featured on the cover of Route ONE magazine in November.
