Did You Know?
Roughly 80% of the families we help through the BREATH program have private insurance.  We help the working family who is employed but needs assistance with covering the co-pay required to equip their child with asthma and allergy related medications and/or equipment.  For any questions about AAFA-STL's programs, send us an email!

    T-21 Advocacy Alert: St. Louis Co. lawmakers passed the T-21 ordinance, which raises the minimum age to purchase tobacco products from 18 to 21.  The ordinance passed in a 5-1 vote, and will officially be enacted Dec. 1.  
  • Latex Allergy Awareness Week is Oct. 2-8:
    Check out two FREE webinars the Allergy & Asthma Network has planned to discuss latex allergy, clinical issues, barriers to care, etc.
  • Healthy Homes Symposium:  Maternal, Child and Family Health Coalition is hosting a Healthy & Sustainable Homes Initiative symposium on Friday, October 21 from 8:30-11:00am at the South County Health Center.  This FREE event will feature SEMO's Dr. John Kraemer, and will focus on healthy home assessment principles & best practicesRegister today!
  • Grant News:  AAFA-STL is proud to be the recipient of a Regional Business Council Big Impact grant award!  We have received $4,000 to provide HEPA vacuums for up to 30 client families through our BREATH (Healthy Homes) program.

Join our dedicated team of professionals for a new AmeriCorps VISTA program to serve St. Clair and Madison Counties in IL!  During your year of National Service with AAFA-STL, you will help improve awareness and participation of the School Nurse RESCUE program through community engagement and capacity building initiatives.  There are 2 VISTA positions open, to start November 2016.
