A number of Sister Parish faith communities celebrated Lent this year with colorful sawdust carpets (alfombras) and processions.  If you like the beautiful pictures you see here, we encourage you to create you own carpet next year to build community and raise awareness.

Guatemalan representatives gather at UPAVIM

Representatives of Guatemalan Sister Parish communities met in February for a weekend of fellowship and planning

We were inspired by learning about UPAVIM's history and current programs.

We also worshiped together, reflected on our sistering relationships, and planned for the coming year.

Hundreds march to celebrate Women's Day

Women across the world celebrated International Women's Day on March 8.

The march in Guatemala City was large and festive, with widespread participation, live music, and powerful statements on women's rights.

One of the groups in Tierra Nueva I and II wrote a statement for women's day that was read at mass in both communities.  It is truly an honor to coordinate with them.

Sister Parish

"When God comes, he always calls us out of our house." - Pope Francis.

We were so happy to welcome a delegation from Danville to Guatemala this past March.

The Sister Parish Open Delegation has been set for November of this year.  Please contact us if you are interested in joining or would like more information.
