Skills Development Competition
Over 900 students took part in skills development competition with different teams participating over 5 days in the main hall. Students took part in teams and were set 3 challenges that they had to complete within 30 minutes. These challenges were designed to develop skills in creativity, collaborative problem solving, critical thinking, resilience and emotional intelligence.
Challenge 1: To collaboratively write a new song around the theme of their choice using the structure and rhythm of Bob Marley’s song one love.
Challenge 2: Redesign a cup to make it easier for a person who has a hand restriction to use.
Challenge 3: To design a campaign about air pollution and the huge impact it has on young people’s health.
The winning team were a Level 1 team of students:
