This month: new titles and we go social

October 2011

Dear <<First Name>>,

It's shaping up to be an exciting month here at CP Towers, what with the arrival of two new titles - the highly anticipated Bangor in the Seventies and the superb George Best Will Not Be Playing Today, both of which will make excellent Christmas gifts (when that time comes, obviously!). They'd make pretty sweet Halloween presents too, if we're honest about it! Read on for more info on both titles...

We've also gone all social and you can find both Laurel Cottage and Bangor in the Seventies on Facebook - we'd love to hear from you if you too are part of this new fangled technological era - we need all the help we can get!

Bangor in the Seventies has been painstakingly written and compiled by Terence Bowman, author of the hugely successful Bangor in the Sixties title from two years ago.

With over 500 images of Bangor and Bangorians during the 1970s, along with reminscences from eminent Bangorians, including Sammy Wilson, Colin Bateman and Lembit Opik, and contemporary reports from the County Down Spectator, this book is an absolute feast for anyone with connections to Bangor.

George Best Will Not Be Playing Today
Following George Best's death in November 2005, an overwhelming number of people turned out to show their affection for a man whose genius transcended footballing colours and whose celebrity made him a household name, and George Best Will Not Be Playing Today is a wonderful compilation of the messages of condolence collected at the time of his death. From a glowing foreword by Sir Alex Ferguson, to tributes from Eammon Holmes, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, HRH The Duke of York and former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to the moving sentiments from the ordinary fan on the street, this book is a superb tribute to the Belfast Boy.
