Happy New Year from Laurel Cottage!

And just like that, 2011 is upon us. The decorations are away, the tree's off for recycling and the snow has (finally!) melted. How are your New Year's resolutions looking? We've got lots of plans for the coming year, not least continuing to expand the range on our website and bringing you offers and news from Ballyhay as and when they happen - and as a subscriber to the newsletter, you'll hear it all here first!

Linen Hall Library

An Evening at the Linen Hall Library, Belfast on Thursday 20th January 2011

We are delighted to have been asked by the Linen Hall Library to present one copy of each of our titles for their collection. Having hosted the extremely successful launch of Ivan McKeown's Ballydoonan Days: Hesitant Hearts and the Wrestling of Goats there, we are really looking forward to returning to the grand and austere surroundings of Belfast's oldest library and the last subscribing library in Ireland. The event starts at 6pm and is free to attend - please send an email to if you would like to join us.

Prints from Laurel Cottage

No VAT on prints

We are delighted to be keeping our prints at the same great price of £15 despite the dreaded VAT increase which happened on 4th January. We have an outstanding range covering many areas from Donegal to Dublin, from Down to Derry and from Rutland and Market Harborough. We also have a really handy Prints by Subject section which allows you to search for specific scenes. Each print comes signed by the author and is mounted and card backed ready for framing. Each one measures approximately 14 x 11in - a perfect memento of that scene you hold dear, or an ideal present for someone special.

If we don't see you at the Linen Hall next Thursday, see you for next month's issue!
