The NEWaukee team is in full production mode for Creational Trails: The Avenue
. Thanks to the help of CG Schmidt
, the two Tournavation artist winners
(Paul Bestul and Ayla Boyle) have completed their final designs and are in the midst of fabrication.
Starting this weekend, the Moiré Pavilion designed by Bestul will be prototyped and installed in the vacant lot along center of Milwaukee’s downtown thoroughfare at 4th
Street and Wisconsin Avenue. We expect the installation to take about a month and to finish up just in time for the city’s very first Night Market July 16th
In the coming weeks – take a stroll down West Wisconsin Avenue. You’ll find the Dream Catcher designed by Boyle installed between the Federal Building and the Boston Lofts at 3rd
Street and Wisconsin Avenue. Additionally, temporary murals created by Bucketworks
and a series of other temporary installations will reshape and reimagine your experience with Milwaukee’s main thoroughfare.

What is the most effective way to implement change in Milwaukee?
I’m struck by how Milwaukeeans are so eager to assemble around a common goal – especially if that goal involves making our city a better place. Therefore, to positively affect change, an idea must be presented in a way that our community can believe in and support. Read more on our NEWaukeean of the Week here.
