Squashes - The Many Shapes of Summer

Squashes of All Shapes and Sizes

This Sunday take a stroll by Nuñez Organics and Ibarra Farms to pick up summer squash of all shapes and sizes. You'll find a little bit of everything from long and skinny to round and flat. That translates into Button squash, Romanesco Zucchini, Cook Neck, Yellow Scalloped Zucchini and don't forget Patty Pan squash.

These delicious summer squash are picked early so their skins are still tender and edible. At this time of year, squash are most flavorful when cooked within a few days of purchase. Their delicious flavors, along with those powerful antioxidants, belong on your summer menu.

While at the Market

Happy Labor Day. See you Sunday.
