Opening Thursday, June 4

Come see baby goats, lambs, calves, chickens, ducks – and piglets, due any day now – at the beautiful Village. As part of the state’s Phase 1 reopening plan, our outdoor spaces will be open. Come for a leisurely stroll on pathways throughout the Village, with views of the beautiful Berkshire hills, heirloom gardens, and historic buildings. Visit the baby animals and take a one-mile walk on the Farm and Forest Trail. Window shop for artisanal, handcrafted objects like oval boxes, quality toys, luxury soaps, local honey, jewelry, clothing, and more, available for curbside pick up.

Timed tickets must be purchased in advance on our website or by calling 413.443.0188. All buildings will be closed until Phase 3, expected in early July. Please read our FAQ and safety guidelines before you visit. We can’t wait to see you!

The Reopening of Phoenix Theatres Beacon Cinema

“We are hopeful that all of our locations will be able to open by July 1st to support the return of Hollywood’s summer blockbuster movies to the big screen.” – Cory Jacobson, owner Phoenix Theatres

This upcoming August will mark the 20th anniversary of the formation of Phoenix Theatres. In the 2 decades that followed we have had more than our fair share of difficult challenges that are typical to a small business. However, none of these problems have been as serious as the current COVID-19 Pandemic.

Since this all started back in March when we had to close our doors to help battle this pandemic, we have been putting together a comprehensive plan for how to reopen the theatres as safely as possible. We looked at all the recommended safety precautions provided by the National Association of Theatre owners, local officials, and the CDC. You can see our entire plan online now at

Ride for Roots Rising!

When their Pittsfield Farmers Market closed due to the pandemic, Roots Rising launched a Virtual Farmers Market to ensure the community’s continued access to fresh food. To help support the market, Roots Rising is now calling on the community for a (socially distant) bike ride challenge: “Ride for Roots Rising”. Between June 20 and June 28, road cyclists and mountain bikers can complete either a beginner, intermediate, or advanced route.

You can register as an individual, but we encourage you to form a team and rally your friends to raise money for community food access and the Virtual Farmers Market! Just visit and click the blue “Fundraise” button to get started. All donations up to $5,000 will be TRIPLED thanks to Mill Town and The Gilson Foundation.

The general registration fee is $25. There is also a low-income registration for $10, and all youth under 12 are free.

Prizes will be offered to the top three teams that fundraise the most. All registrants will be entered to win some additional prizes, including gift certificates to Berkshire Bike and Board, Arcadian Shop, Berkshire Outfitters, The Spoke, Guido's Fresh Marketplace, and Roots Rising’s own Virtual Farmers Market. In addition, Mill Town and Berkshire Bike and Board are offering a bike giveaway for Pittsfield youth.
