Virtual Moby-Dick Marathon

Please join the Berkshire Historical Society at Arrowhead for their annual Moby-Dick Marathon in celebration of Herman Melville’s 201st birthday weekend. Whether this is your first time reading the book, or your hundredth, you’re welcome to join!

This year Arrowhead is pleased to announce they can still hold their annual marathon, now virtually. The marathon will start on Thursday, July 30 and will continue with reading from 1 to 5 pm EDT every day after that until the book is finished! Each reader will select a 10 minute time slot, and read aloud from where the previous reader left off.

Use the links at the end of this post to sign up for your 10 minute virtual time slot. You are welcome to register for more than one slot in a day and to sign up for multiple days.

If you don’t already own a copy of Moby-Dick you can purchase one from Arrowhead's online shop, or use Power Moby-Dick for an online version.

Arrowhead is excited to bring the magic of where Herman Melville wrote Moby-Dick to your home for this marathon!

If you can’t join this year, please consider donating so this tradition can continue!

A sexually charged and wickedly funny one-man thriller, Harry Clarke, by acclaimed playwright and solo artist David Cale (Lillian, A Likely Story) starring BSC Associate Artist Mark H. Dold (BSC’s Breaking the Code, Freud’s Last Session) is the story of a shy midwestern man leading an outrageous double life as the cocky Londoner Harry Clarke. Moving to New York City and presenting himself as an Englishman, he charms his way into a wealthy family’s life as the seductive and precocious Harry, whose increasingly risky and dangerous behavior threatens to undo more than his persona. Click here to learn more about our social distancing and safety policies.
