REMINDER- HEDGE CLEARING
Meeting was held at the picnic tables from 11am until approximately 12:45pm, and the following items were discussed. Let us know if you have any questions or comments!* FRN Board was all present; minutes from prior meeting were approved
* Questions, comments and concerns that were raised to Dennis, and his initial feedback, included:
The RN Streetlighting Committee (which is for greater RN, and not just FRN members, and is coordinated by John and Matt) had its first meeting prior to the Aug 11th FRN Member meeting. They will be working with the Department of Public Works to provide ideas and feedback on replacement lighting for streetlamps in RN. The Committee has good representation of more than 10 people, but feel free to contact us or call and leave a message at (707) 200-FRN1 if you want to join.
Concerns were voiced about (1) the appearance of certain properties in RN [complaints can be made with info provided on the FRN Resources List, and Fred will offer additional info in the next meeting], (2) debris that sometimes collects in the RN tunnel and drug and other issues with loiterer in the tunnel [it may help to communicate these concerns to Charity, our CSO, Community Services Officer at the Guerneville substation], and (3) people driving too fast [complaints should be made to the CHP, and FRN Board can formally approach CHP if FRN Members can identify primary areas of concern].
A vote was taken, and the 2012 FRN Budget was approved. No concerns or questions were voiced regarding the final FRN 2011-2012 Financial Statement that was distributed.
A reminder that FRN t-shirts are for sale: a green basic Tee with black lettering, a green slender Tee with gray lettering, or a gray slender tank with lime green lettering. $18 for children's sizes and $20 for adult. Let us know if you want to buy one.
The rionido.net website continues to evolve. Let us know if you have comments or ideas for content on the website, especially if it has to do with RN history, or RN businesses to advertise, or RN vacation rentals!
Dave, our new FRN Board member and Vice President, made a quick introduction of himself and his aim to help move certain FRN interests forward.
John, our FRN Board President, is on the Board of the RRR&P (Russian River Recreation & Park District) and gave an update: trees in the Bruno Farnocchia park (near the RN garden) are deemed unsafe and will be trimmed or removed in October now; the firewood will go to seniors. Feel free to email John with any questions or concerns about the RRR&P.
CORRECTION!!! We had some missteps in the passing of information, and our prior meeting notes indicated $5M was available in the County budget for the RN lighting committee, where instead, this is money available for the entire County. Apologies!
