BigML - Machine learning made easy
Hi <<Full Name>>,

At BigML, we are very committed to your privacy when it comes to handling your data because it’s an essential part of our service -- and not only because it’s imposed by law. After all, our platform can only add value to the extent we can secure your trust and cooperation. From “Day 0”, we have designed our Machine Learning platform and our processes to keep your data completely private. By your data we mean, both the data that you upload to BigML to be processed as part of your Machine Learning projects and the data that identifies you (name, email, etc.) to our service.

Your “Machine Learning Data” is never accessible to BigML personnel without your explicit permission. Even then, we wait for specific requests from you to help you debug specific problems you may be experiencing when executing tasks on the platform.

Your “Personal Data” is only used to communicate with you. We don’t share any personal data with third parties and any personal data needed to communicate with you are always collected with your explicit consent. Similarly, we always honor your preferences in receiving marketing communications from us or not.

As a continuation of our privacy efforts and to help ensure that both BigML and our users remain compliant with the imminent changes taking place today, May 25, 2018, to the European Union data protection law (General Data Protection Regulation, or “GDPR”), we have made a number of updates to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service and agreements. You can review the new versions for your own benefit.
  • Privacy Policy: As a key part of the GDPR compliance effort, we have made sure that our Privacy Policy is easier to understand, contains all relevant links, and does a proper job of describing our data processing practices in clear language. The current version includes separate sections on the information collected by BigML, the uses and disclosure of such information as well as security practices.

  • Terms of Service: GDPR places new obligations on organizations that process EU citizens’ personal data. As a result, we updated our Terms of Service (TOS) to better explain our users’ rights and their relationship with BigML in a comprehensive manner.

  • Opt out: This is nothing new, but as a reminder, if you choose to opt out of receiving marketing communications from BigML, you can do so at any time by navigating to the Email tab under your Profile after you login.
Because we don’t access or view your data as your Machine Learning service provider, we’d like to take this opportunity to remind you that it’s your ongoing responsibility to not upload data that violates any of the directives outlined in GDPR. As such, we thank you for your diligence on this matter.
We hope these updates help make your use of BigML and the transition to GDPR a smooth experience. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact us at
