Pray with us... Weekly prayer update

Week beginning Sunday 12 June 2022

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (NIV)
Dear friends

I write this email with a deep sense of thankfulness. It was a joy last Wednesday to celebrate our BRF centenary with a thanksgiving service and garden party at Dorchester Abbey for the BRF ‘family’. After the restrictions of the past two years or so, it was particularly special to be able to come together in person for the afternoon. We continue to give thanks for the many people who are part of our work today, and for all those who have been involved over the past 100 years.

There is much for which to give thanks across our four ministries: the online training courses that the Anna Chaplaincy team are currently leading; the Parenting for Faith babies and toddlers course, which has just started online; and recent news of a grant that will enable us to develop the next stage of the Messy Church Goes Wild initiative. We give thanks too for the new Living Faith and Anna Chaplaincy book projects that were approved at last week’s resources meeting, and we pray for all our authors currently writing books and Bible readings notes. We are so grateful to God for his faithful provision for BRF in so many ways, and for all that he has made, and continues to make, possible.

And I want to thank you for your prayers for BRF. It means a great deal to all of us to know that you are standing with us in prayer.

This week, our article is the first in a new series based on Clare and Micah Hayns’ best-selling book Unveiled: Women of the Old Testament and the choices they made.

A prayer written by Martyn Payne:
Open-handed God,
you have blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing in heaven;
help us to open our hearts and hands to others
so that the grace we have received
may inspire the generosity with which we give.
Thank you for praying for us and with us; we are praying for you.
