ThinkLocalDC Business Relief Fund

TLF's goal is to expand on the 2020 technical assistance we provided during the second round of the PPP application period with the installation of a ThinkLocalDC Local Business Relief Fund! The goal is to raise $25,000 and seek a match from institutions of like vision and mission.

2021 Robust Retail Grant Open

The Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) is accepting applications for the 2021 Robust Retail Citywide grant for DC retail businesses with 25 or fewer employees. DSLBD intends to award up to $7,500 per business to 106 businesses from the total $800,000 in available funding for Fiscal Year 2021. To learn more and apply click here by January 28th, 2021.

For those in the music industry, life remains uncertain as the global pandemic continues to devastate the landscape.  As we enter the holiday season, growing needs are emerging for music people, including support for basic necessities.  MusiCares' mission is to support the music community in times of need. SmallBiz: Black Girl Ventures + Halcyon
The eight-month incubator program from D.C.’s Black Girl Ventures and Halcyon will support 10 companies from across the country with business planning, skill-building, and pitch sessions, plus a weeklong residency in August 2021. The effort aims to address the pandemic’s impact on minority founders; the number of Black-owned businesses dropped by 41% and Latino-owned businesses fell by 32% since the coronavirus hit the U.S., per the National Bureau of Economic Research. Both nonprofits are now accepting applications for the new program through Jan. 7, 2021. Read more about the program here.

Restaurant: $120B Revitalization Fund
Tell the Senate to Pass Restaurant Relief NOW! 500k independent restaurants + 11M jobs at risk. We need the Senate to follow the House's lead & pass restaurant relief, specifically the RESTAURANT's Act, est the $120B Independent Restaurant Revitalization Fund.
