TLF's goal is to expand on the 2020 technical assistance we provided during the second round of the PPP application period with the installation of a ThinkLocalDC Local Business Relief Fund! The goal is to raise $25,000 and seek a match from institutions of like vision and mission.

More than $500k in Grants

eBay is partnering with Hello Alice this holiday season and awarding more than $500,000 in grants and education resources to help small businesses stay up and running online and secure their future into 2021 and beyond. 50 eBay business sellers will receive grant packages of $10,000, including cash, eBay credits, coaching through eBay Seller School, and more. Bridge Fund for DC Hotels

The Bridge Fund is a program launched by Mayor Muriel Browser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development that will invest $100 million in business and workers in the hospitality, entertainment, and retails sectors. The first program of $30 million for the hotel industry in DC is now accepting applications. Learn more and apply here.

B.A.R. + NAACP = $350k+ Support

The NAACP x BACARDI are working together to provide dedicated support to Black-owned businesses in the beverage alcohol service, sales, and hospitality industries. Backing the B.A.R. (Black-Owned Accounts & Retailers) is an NAACP initiative that is awarding over $350,000 in acceleration grants, education, support, and entrepreneurship solutions for Black-owned bars, restaurants, nightclubs, lounges, liquor stores, and small businesses in the process of applying for a liquor license. Apply by December 24th through Hello Alice.



SmallBiz: District Shop Small
Supporting small businesses is more important this year than ever before this holiday season. From DC Shop Small’s virtual event to Georgetown’s two-week-long Silver Linings promotion, there are both virtual and socially-distanced ways you can support small businesses and get a head start on your holiday shopping list. Check out this list from the DCist for #smallbusinesssaturday events.

Tech: 3 Tips for POS Safety
BizTech Magazine offers 3 tips for using tech to make your store safer: contactless payment, sanitizing tech, and capacity management tools. These tips can also help increase your customer base; research from Visa found that “63 percent of customers would switch to a retailer who offered contactless payment over an existing relationship.” If your small business is open for in-store shopping this holiday season, here's a safer experience for employees and shoppers.
