July 4th Bash: Moonbounce, Parade, & Music - Volunteers Needed
Face painting, music, moon bounces, balloon artist, face painting, food trucks, games, and more will be at the Loree Grand Field on Second & L Streets, NE on July 4, 2013 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Dress to impress – there will be a parade at 6 p.m.! Awards will be given to the best decorated bicycle, tricycle, 4-wheeler (wagon), and dog. There will be a station with materials for children to decorate their bicycles, create hats, and unleash their inner artist. Come connect with your neighbors and celebrate our nation’s independence with your friends and family. The first 200 people get a free hamburger or hot dog, or buy popcorn from Popped! Republic on the field! This free and public event is sponsored by the NoMa BID. Many thanks to our local NoMa Harris Teeter for sponsoring all of the free food at the event! And to Capitol Hill North Neighborhood Association, Eckington Civic Association, Bates Area Civic Association, DC Bocce League, Unleashed by PETCO, and Metro Mutts for partnering with NoMa BID for this event. The Fugitive at NoMa Summer Screen
The Fugitive is playing at NoMa Summer Screen on Wednesday, July 3. Come out to the Loree Grand Field at Second and L Streets, NE to connect with friends, coworkers, and family under the stars. Bring a picnic, cooler, Frisbee, blanket, and your friendly (leashed) dog. Popped! Republic, Orange Cow, Capital Chicken & Waffles and Red Hook Lobster Pound will all be serving up your favorite culinary delights. Across the street, the team at Union Kitchen is hosting a happy hour-style hang-out with food trucks, beer, and music at their Lot at Third & L Streets, NE. The fun starts at 7 p.m. and the film starts at sunset. All movies are screened with subtitles. NoMa Summer Screen is organized by the NoMa BID. Site provided by Toll Brothers Apartment Living. Despicable Me at Family Film Night
Now in its third year, the NoMa BID sponsors Family Film Night at Sursum Corda, where families and children gather for free family-centric movies (also fitting the ‘Outlaw Hero’ theme) and free food. The first Family Film Night this summer will be on Tuesday, July 9 with a showing of Despicable Me. The movies will be held in Sursum Corda in the plaza at L and First Streets, NW. The event starts at 7 p.m. with kid-friendly activities and free food. Films start at sunset.
