Arrest on the Metropolitan Branch Trail
DC police have arrested two people for a robbery on the Metropolitan Branch trail that occurred earlier this week near Third and R Streets, NE. Two teenage boys pushed a 29-year-old woman off her bike, then stole her wallet and phone.

DC Councilmember Charles Allen is hosting a NoMa Public Safety Meeting tonight, July 15. The community is encouraged to attend and share their thoughts and questions about public safety in the neighborhood. Representatives from the Metropolitan Police Department will participate in the dialogue. The meeting will take place at 7 PM at the Lobby Project (1200 First Street, NE). Click here for more information.
N Street Park Opens

NoMa has a new pop-up park on N Street, NE! Adjacent to the Hyatt Place hotel, JBG created and designed the funky community space to encourage visitors to gather and interact with each other. A series of oversized pentagonal “dice" can be moved and shifted by visitors to create their own colorful groupings for hanging out with friends and coworkers. International street artist Rubin (Rubin415) created a mural on the back wall of the pop-up park.

The geometric theme of the pop-up space was inspired by JBG’s NoMa mural series along N and First Streets, NE. Renowned artist Kyle Hughes-Odgers created the mural at 1300 First Street, NE and Momo painted the facade of 51 N Street, NE. Check out the park and the art along N Street for yourself! The park is open 7 days a week, from 8 AM to 9 PM.
