Red Line Metro Closures October 4-6

Metro riders, be advised that this weekend three Red Line Metro Stations, Farragut North, Judiciary Square, and Union Station, will be closed. Gallery Place will remain open for Yellow and Green Line service only and Metro Center will operate Blue and Orange line trains. Free shuttle buses will replace Red Line trains between Dupont Circle and NoMa-Gallaudet stations beginning at 10 PM on Friday, October 4 through system closing on Sunday, October 6. The metro closures this weekend are necessary to rebuild and renew third-rail components, install new rail fasteners, and allow for structural work. WMATA suggests riders consider the following tips to minimize their travel time:
 • Use the Green Line between Fort Totten and downtown DC when traveling on the eastern side of the Red Line
 • Use Metrobus as an alternative, especially when traveling along Wisconsin Ave NW and Connecticut Ave NW

Click here for more information about what to expect when traveling on the Metro this weekend.
