Union Station Expansion Architect Selected
Did you know that a $10 billion expansion of Union Station is being planned? This expansion would tremendously expand passenger and rail capacity. Architecture firm Beyer Blinder Belle, which managed the design, planning, and renovation of New York's Grand Central Station, was selected to lead the expansion. The firm is partnering with Grimshaw Architects, another specialist in train station design. Both companies were chosen by the Union Station Redevelopment Corporation, which manages Union Station, along with Amtrak and Akridge. This plan could triple passenger capacity and bolster Union Station as a world-class transportation hub. Read more about the planned expansion here.
