Flashdance Wednesday
What a feeling! Flashdance hits the screen at NoMa Summer Screen tonight, June 17. The fun starts at 7 PM, and films start at sunset. DJs, giveaways, as well as the usual food trucks, picnicking, and more start when the doors open. All movies are screened with subtitles.

Meet representatives from the DC Breeze, the District's professional ultimate frisbee team, at this Wednesday's NoMa Summer Summer Screen, and be on the lookout for special giveaways. Bluejacket Brewery will be on site selling their
Forbidden Planet (Dry-Hopped Kolsch), Stroppy (New Zealand Pale Ale), and Jam (Strawberry-Rhubarb Berliner Weisse).

This year’s danciest film series under the stars is hosted at NoMa Junction @ Storey Park, a future development site at 1005 First Street, NE, that has been transformed for 2015 into NoMa's best temporary park yet. The new site is asphalt, so we highly recommend you bring low beach chairs or cushions.

DC Foam Container Ban

The District of Columbia’s foam container ban takes effect on January 1, 2016. The law prohibits businesses and organizations that serve prepared food and beverages from using containers and other food service products made of expanded polystyrene, commonly known as Styrofoam™. The ban on foam containers will reduce the amount of material entering landfills and will improve the health of the District’s rivers and streams.

Certain foam products are exempt from the ban, including products packaged outside the District, products used to package raw meat or seafood, and products purchased in bulk for home use. Businesses that distribute banned foam products after January 1, 2016 may be fined.

If you’re a business that’s already foam free, contact DDOE to receive a Foam Free DC window cling! To request a window cling or get more information about the ban, visit ddoe.dc.gov/foam or call (202) 645-6988.
