Moulin Rouge Tonight
The show must go on! Moulin Rouge comes to NoMa Summer Screen tonight, July 29. Doors open at 7 PM, with a DJ, giveaways, food trucks, picnicking. A free screening of Moulin Rouge will start at sunset and be screened with subtitles. NoMa Summer Screen is held at Junction @ Storey Park, a mural-filled lot located at 1005 First Street, NE.

Remaining 2015 NoMa Summer Screen Schedule:

  • August 5: Stomp the Yard (PG-13)
  • August 12: Footloose (R)
  • August 19: Rain date, movie TBD
The 2015 NoMa Summer Screen series is hosted by Storey Park, a 712,000 SF mixed-use project with office, retail and residential in the heart of NoMa, coming in 2017. Developed by First Potomac Realty Trust and Perseus Realty. First Street, NE Construction Closures
Full-lanes of First Street, NE will be closed between Massachusetts Avenue and G Street, NE starting at 7 PM on Friday, July 31. Closures in this section will also occur on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2 from 7 AM to 5 PM. These closures will enable the District Department of Transportation to continue the reconstruction of First Street, NE including milling, paving, and line striping of the street. Detour routes will be marked, and it is recommended that motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians plan for additional travel time.
Princess and the Frog Tuesday
Join us on Tuesday, August 4 for The Princess and the Frog at Family Film Night! Families and children are invited to watch free, kid-centric films on the following Tuesdays this summer:
  • August 4: The Princess and the Frog (2009, PG)
  • August 11: Rain Date, Film TBD
Free food and beverages will be provided for the first 100 people, courtesy of sponsor Harris Teeter.  The event starts at 7 PM with fun activities and free food, and films start at sunset. Family Film Night at Sursum Corda will take place in the plaza at L and First Streets, NW. Please note that this is at a different location than NoMa Summer Screen. 
Help Prevent Traffic Injuries
Participate in Vision Zero, and help join the movement to end traffic fatalities and serious injuries. The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) wants your input and ideas about how to achieve Vision Zero in DC. Give your input by attending one of the events in the next two weeks, or by clicking here to give your feedback. 

The Vision Zero Action Plan will apply effective use of data, education, enforcement, and engineering to achieve the goal of eliminating traffic deaths in DC by 2024. The Action Plan will be released to the public in September.

Thursdays, 6-7 PM, Metropolitan Branch Trail at Rhode Island Avenue Pedestrian Bridge
Grab your yoga mat and join Serenity Place DC, a neighborhood yoga studio for a free weekly, outdoor community yoga class the Metropolitan Branch Trail.  

Union Market Farmer's Market
Sundays, 11 AM - 2 PM, 1309 Fifth Street, NE
Union Market hosts a Farmstand with organic vegetables, fruits, jams, eggs, and more. Plus, visit all the artisanal delights inside Union Market.
