M Street Drainage Fix
DDOT just completed installation of a drain to eliminate pooling by the M Street Metro entrance at the NoMa (New York Avenue) Metro station! The site has been a problem area for quite some time, causing a massive ‘lake effect’ right at the sidewalk on M Street, as pedestrians leave the Metro. Many thanks to the DDOT team for their great work on this problem spot.
Medical Clinic Now Open in NoMa
NoMa’s first primary care clinic is now open at 220 L Street, NE! A physician is always on hand at the Metro Immediate & Primary Care Clinic, which operates seven exam rooms in an industrial-themed space at Congress Street, NE, between Second and Third Streets, NE on L Street. This is the second location for the company, which runs another busy clinic on Porter Street, NW, that saw 40,000 patients last year. With long hours and availability, the clinic is perfect for those who can’t get in to see their doctor quickly, said Chris Timm, the President and CEO of the group. Services typically sought include care for fractures, sprains, sutures, colds and flus. Hours and a full listing of services are available on their web site
Business Journal Awards
Each April, the Washington Business Journal recognizes the top real estate maneuvers, strategies and deals. Two NoMa projects are finalists in the Best Real Estate Deals of 2011:

• The Mathematica Policy Research Inc. deal at 1100 First St. NE will be honored in the urban office leasing category. The Rockefeller Group, represented by Tishman Speyer Properties, is the landlord, while J Street Cos. represented the tenant.
