TD Burger Opens
Last week, former Top Chef contestant and local restaurateur Timothy Dean opened TD Burger at the Loree Grand at 250 K Street, NE. This is the second TD Burger in the region, and has an occupancy of roughly 130 people. The space features five flat-screen televisions and an outdoor patio area. TD Burger’s menu includes Dean’s renowned burgers, as well as a variety of pizzas, wings, salads, and sides. Highlights from the menu include the “Loree Blue Burger" (Organic Blue Cheese, Maple Bacon, Lettuce, Vine Ripe Tomato) in honor of the adjacent apartment building the Loree Grand, the Wild Mushroom Pizza (fresh thyme, rosemary, mozzarella, sea salt), and beer battered onion rings. With a full bar boasting more than 50 craft beers and 30 bottles of wine under $30, TD Burger is the watering hole NoMa residents and office workers have been waiting for.

“I love the neighborhood,” said Chef Timothy Dean, a resident of the Loree Grand. Dean is looking forward to the grand opening of TD Burger on Monday, September 16. TD Burger is only serving dinner until after Labor Day, and then will be open for lunch service.

New York Avenue Bridge Sculpture Installation
A new tree-like sculpture has been installed along the New York Avenue Bridge. This archway will be a new landmark at one of NoMa's primary gateways. The organic, leafy sculptures are more than five stories tall and scale 52 feet above the road. The arches on opposite sides of the New York Avenue Bridge will not perfectly align, rather one arch will come before the other. The D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities commissioned the project to "highlight Washington D.C.’s up-and-coming NoMa neighborhood," according to Kent Bloomer Studio, who designed and erected the sculpture.
