An exciting opportunity for all of
Minehead's Retail Businesses
As announced in our recent newsletter, a free independent retail mentoring programme has been announced for Minehead.
It will be facilitated by established retail training consultant, Fran Riseley. Funded by the Emergency Town Centre Recovery Fund, created by Somerset West and Taunton Council to help town centres in the district recover from the pandemic and administered by the Minehead Business Improvement District (BID).
Fran Riseley has enjoyed an extensive career in retail and for the past 30 years has been committed to helping retailers. She is known for her practical, yet inspirational, training that really transforms businesses.
The Offer for retail businesses in Minehead
- The mentoring involves a 2-3 hour tailored session in the owner’s shop. It will focus on all aspects of the business including marketing, social media, visual merchandising, sales and service, shop front and signage, staffing and business strategy.
- Coaching sessions are followed up with an action plan and summary of findings and a further session will review progress and ensure continued improvements.
Places are limited, so independent retailers across the whole of Minehead should contact Fran Riseley on 07765 257213 or friseley@gmail.com to book on the mentoring programme.

Somerset Business Recovery Survey 2021
Somerset’s five Local Authorities are jointly undertaking this vital survey to help us better understand and respond to local business needs, with a particular focus on the impacts that COVID-19 will have had on many businesses over the last 12 months.
By completing this survey, you will be providing much needed intelligence to help shape our approach to economic recovery in Somerset, including the support that businesses will be able to receive.
Should you wish to provide your details at the end of the survey, we will share the findings of this survey with you as soon as they are available. We may also be able to offer specific advice and support based on the responses you have given.
We know your time is precious, but the survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and your views could make a real difference.
Please be assured that your personal data will not be shared with anyone outside of Somerset’s local authorities and you will remain fully anonymous in any reporting.
