Preservation and digitisation of important public records were the main focus of last night's Sir Rupert Hamer Records Management Awards.
Justine Heazlewood, Director and Keeper of Public Records said the annual Awards ceremony recognised the importance of preserving the past and the present for future generations.
"Victorian Government recordkeepers are now looking to the future; continuing to preserve the physical records of our past while developing new methods to manage and preserve electronic records, which, when accessed as digital archives in the future, will reveal the history of today," said Ms Heazlewood.
