With so many things going on in and around Downtown Knoxville, South Knoxville, and Happy Holler, it can be hard to decide what to do, so we here at Marble Alley Development have chosen to showcase some of the most interesting events for you. Enjoy!

The Pixies: Saturday, March 9th, 8pm at The Tennessee Theater.

If you are of a certain age, you remember the music of the 80s. Everywhere you looked it seemed there was another band showing up, turning music on its head. One of the best bands to come out of this era was The Pixies. Their unique blend of punk rock’s aggression and pop music’s infectious melodies helped establish the sound that would define alternative rock in the 1990s. Ticket info here.

Take Action!: The Cost of Clutter Workshop. Tuesday, March 12, 6pm-8pm, Ijams Nature Center

Clutter costs you time, productivity and money. It probably makes you feel frustrated, stressed and overwhelmed. And it often wreaks havoc on the environment when discarded. As part of Ijams Take Action!, Beth Meadows of The Empathetic Organizer will teach participants how to overcome clutter in a way that’s sustainable for you and the environment.

Join us on March 12 at 6 p.m. to learn Beth’s method for tackling the constant flow of stuff, including an “inbox/ outbox” process, without creating unnecessary litter or losing your mind. You’ll explore various organizational methods, as well as local resources for thrifting and re-homing your items, before enjoying a group activity and clothing swap at the end! More information here.

Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite. Friday and Saturday, March 22nd and 23rd, 6-9pm, Jubilee Banquet Facility

Free Spirit Theatre will present the hilarious comedy, Plaza Suite by Neil Simon, in a dinner theatre setting at the beautiful Jubilee Banquet Facility just off I-75 on Callahan Drive.

For evening performances, dinner will be served from 6:00-7:00 pm with show beginning at 7:30, and the lunch will be served from noon till 1:00 with a matinee performance at 1:30. Performances will be Friday and Saturday evenings, March 22 and 23 and Saturday afternoon, March 23. Tickets at: www.freespirittheatre.org

Mystery Link: Expect The Unexpected!

Who doesn’t love cheese, baby? Cheese is great (or grate LOL. Sorry). Put it on burgers, in a quesadilla, with wine or just by itself. It’s all good baby! And a food baby sitting in your stomach after eating a whole block of cheddar is one of life’s simple pleasures. So… how are people combining babies and cheese? Click here to find out!

Looking For Downtown Parking?

Downtown has free parking on nights and weekends, but with the expansion project at the State Street Garage, finding parking can be confusing. Keep up-to-date with the city of Knoxville parking blog by clicking here.

Also,
There's now an app that can help you strategically pick your parking garage destination, before you even start your car and pull out of the driveway.

Parkopedia.com offers a free phone app that reports data from sensors at the entrances to City-owned downtown garages. So you can see, in real-time, how many parking spaces are available at each garage.

Visit Parkopedia.com to get the app. Enter Knoxville when prompted to enter a city or place.
