Embassy of Ideas No. 8

Short.  Chatty. Conversational.

Things I want to share with you.
News from my gallery shop and studio.
Behind the scenes of my life.

Thank you so much for being here!
Hi Friend!
Been thinking about you!

This weekend I will be making the pretty drive to one of Canada's cutest villages where the Lakefield Literary Festival is taking place.

In 1995, Ron and Joan Ward of Lakefield owned Margaret Laurence’s retirement house and the Ward family organized a banquet to honour the memory of Margaret Laurence and her 13 years in Lakefield. All these years later (25) it is one of our country's most loved book event.  I know I am going to see many interesting folks!
Much of my family is from Ottawa.
My Grandparents, Parents, Brother
Cousins, Aunts...Uncle...
Heck! I was born there!
(Good ol' Salvation Army Hospital)
You get the idea...

The Ottawa Valley holds alot of wonderful memories.
This is why my parents collected incredible art showcasing the area's beauty.

This one painting above was of the Rideau Canal.
If you don’t know who Ben Babelowsky was — and that was unlikely in the years when Babelowsky was the ever-present face of the Ottawa Citizen as the paper’s director of marketing and public relations — then you almost certainly know his artwork.

Babelowsky’s paintings of the Rideau Canal and other significant scenes around the capital are a fixture at city hall, libraries, embassies, boardrooms and living rooms.

Still don’t know him? The grinning logo of Giant Tiger is another Babelowsky creation.

Babelowsky died July 2 at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice in Kanata. He was 87.
This blue blooded abstract called 'Birdcage' is in my gallery shop!
Have the best weekend.
Happy 24th Birthday to my Son Blair!
We love you!
