News for June:
For the newsletter this month, I've added two pastels and a large new oil. These new works are a bit more abstracted and I do like the results. The two pastels have inspired me to do large oil versions and I hope to have the completed results in next month's newsletter. One of the large oils in progress is in the workshop photo below.
July 21-22, I'll be doing a formal painting and pastel workshop in the Denver metro

As a summer bonus, I have birds nesting on my front door wreath! It is worth the inconvenience of forgoing front door access to have the three new chicks growing up. Hope you enjoy the photo.

Next exhibit, November 2012:
The Madden Museum, Denver
This six-person Denver Museum show, To Expand, is taking shape.
Exhibiting Denver artists: Carol Ann Waugh, Janice McDonald, Karen Scharer, Ken Elliott, Mary Williams and Victoria Eubanks. Taking shape means that the six of us are really busy conceptualizing and creating works for this large exhibit space. We have a Facebook page
where you can watch us create this exhibit right up to the opening!
The new family:
Here are the three new Western Finch chicks nesting in the front door wreath. The dragonfly doorknocker is keeping watch. Mon and Dad were smart and since they made this nest under the front porch overhang, they all survived the 4 inches of hail we experienced last week.... good call !
