Announcement and reservation info for new dates at Lazy Bear underground restaurant.
Lazy Bear Underground Restaurant
Last-minute announcement for this weekend and next

Surprise! We have dinners Friday, Saturday, and Monday of this weekend and next weekend. After a very busy December we've had a bit of a hiatus, hanging out at Indie Chefs Week in Austin, TX. Now we're back with a bunch of new stuff. In addition to the late-breaking dates this weekend, for which we are selling first-come, first-served tickets via EventBrite as we have absolutely no time to conduct the lottery shenanigans, we will still do the usual reservation process plus lottery for the dates next weekend.
Tentative menu for Lazy Bear Oct 27-29, Nov 2-4

For all dates, dinner starts at 7:30pm, and should last 3.5 hours. We're experimenting with doing all-inclusive (tip and tax included) pre-payment. So, seats are $125.06 (the usual $95 plus a generous tip for our outstanding, passionate service, and then 8.75% tax). It's the same cost it's been for the last year, just all-inclusive. As always, the dinners are BYOB (with no corkage fees). No dietary restrictions can be accommodated (unless it's something easy like no avocado, or no shark meat). I hope you like our hypnotic and unintelligible tentative menu at right. Click it to see a larger, more hypnotic, and slightly less unintelligible version. Here's how to get into dinners this weekend and next weekend:

THIS WEEKEND: First-come, first-serve tickets on sale TODAY AT NOON

Tickets for this Friday, Saturday, and Monday, January 17, 18, and 20, will go on sale at lazybearsf.eventbrite.com at noon sharp today according to EventBrite's internal clock. When you head to that page, it will ask you for a password. The password is "surprise". Then click "View Event." Before noon, it'll just say "No tickets available." Then, for a few brief seconds, tickets will be available. You may have to refresh and you may have to re-enter the password. Blame EventBrite. You can purchase up to 4 tickets for any of the nights until they sell out. Be advised, this will probably happen within a minute or two. BUT, if people claim tickets then decide not to follow through with the transaction, those tickets will again become available in 5-30 minutes, so it might be worth checking back.

Please do not email us saying, "My phone says noon but the tickets aren't available," or, "Something must be screwed up, I was on right at noon and the tickets were already gone." Again, EventBrite will automatically make the tickets available at noon according to their clock, and the tickets will sell out very quickly. You'll get an automated confirmation email from EventBrite with some details about the event, and we will send you another email with additional details within a few hours.

NEXT WEEKEND: Submit a reservation request for the lottery any time from now until Friday at noon

Reservation requests for Friday, Saturday, and Monday, January 24, 25, and 27 are open now via our usual lottery process, which you should read about on this page before submitting a request. Then submit a reservation request by clicking here and answering the questions carefully. Once you've submitted the form, you do not yet have a reservation! We'll keep the request period open from now through the DEADLINE FRIDAY AT NOON. At that time, requests will close, we'll run the pseudorandom algorithm determining which requests get spots, and hopefully start offering reservations to parties by email on Tuesday night. We will continue to offer reservations to parties on a rolling basis as they become available. Once we offer you a reservation you will only have a short time to confirm your reservation by paying the deposit. So keep an eye out for a reservation offer email from us, and act quickly when you get it.

You won't hear from us unless and until you are being offered a reservation. But there are always cancellations, so even if you don't initially get in, we may contact you later on about open seats. Parties with an even number of guests have a significantly better chance of getting in initially, and a much better chance of getting in later when seats open up due to cancellations. Put our numbers in your phone! (415)662-3373, and (415)613-3373. Similarly, add reservations@lazybearsf.com to your trusted senders list. And follow us on Twitter @lazybearsf because we sometimes post about last-minute cancellations.

Thanks, as always,
