Newtown Festival: stall news 5, January 2015

Our first Newsletter for 2015, and since you last heard from us  a lot of new stallholders have joined us - welcome!  We hope you have a wonderful time at our awesome Newtown Festival Fair Day!

Advertising Opportunity - be quick!

We are sending this edition out in a bit of a hurry because we have just heard of an advertising opportunity that might interest some of you - but we will need a response by Tuesday next week i.e. 3rd February.   This year we are advertising in FishHead Magazine, a lifestyle magazine that has a great following among Wellingtonians who are likely customers for high quality goods.  In the Feb 26th issue there will be an article about the Festival and next to it will be a page of nine Festival-associated advertisements at $190 +GST each.  There are a few gaps in this page - are any of you stallholders interested in advertising your goods (and your stall) here?  Email us asap if so - and the first in will get the spots!  A sample page of advertisements is at the bottom of this Newsletter.

The Newtown Festival Street Fair gets even bigger!

In 2015 we are closing Riddiford St right to the Rhodes St/Russell Tce roundabout at the south end of the Fair.  If you are not familiar with Newtown this map will help you get oriented , and we also have this layout map of the Fair site  - previously the Fair stopped at Gordon St.  Many of the children's rides and fairground attractions will re-locate here and we have organised new stages and new activities at this end of the Fair, including street sports and Atiawa Toa FM Te Raukura stage.  The intention is that the south end of the Fair will be just as buzzy as the north end has always been!  There will of course be room for more stalls as well!  If you haven't booked yet, or have a friend who is thinking of coming, its not too late.

Stall Site Allocations

As promised we started penciling in allocations in November.  Progress on this has been delayed while we work out just what is going where with the new Fair layout, but we will get back on to it now.  Its time for another reminder about payments - once again we will be re-sending invoices to people who are marked as 'unpaid' in the database.  There was a great response last time, and also a few notes from people who had paid but it had slipped through unrecorded - so apologies in advance if you get an invoice in spite of payment!  Please note, particularly if you are a new stallholder, that we do not allocate sites to stallholders until the stall has been paid for.

Did you get your stall booking invoice?

As soon as you book a stall on line the booking system sends an emailed invoice, and food form information if you are selling food.  Sometimes these emails go astray – if there’s nothing from us in your inbox please check spam or junk mail. If there is nothing from us at all let us know and we will send a copy.

Food Stalls - a note about recycling

We are wanting to focus on recycling this year, and although we don't (yet!) insist on bio-degradable plates and packaging we strongly encourage it.  Our website has some good information about suppliers at the bottom of the Stall Booking page.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or comments, and please forward this newsletter on to other people you know who might be interested in booking a stall with us.

Best wishes
