Big Ideas Fest
December 4-7, 2016

A global gathering of change-makers from K-12, higher education, and informal education, convenes educators, administrators, students, policymakers, researchers, edupreneurs, ed tech start-ups, and philanthropists.

A Call to Action from ISKME’s CEO, Lisa Petrides

Those of us committed to education as a means to bring about social justice, democracy, and equality must confront the challenge by putting into practice what Educating to Be Human means in a globally connected world today. At this year’s Big Ideas Fest, we will look at education and innovation in the context of what it means to support humanity not merely to survive, but to thrive as a democracy and as a civilization.

A Conversation With David King III

As innovators, we often find inspiration from analogous settings. During the Action Collab process, we often explore analogous settings to help provoke our thinking. We look at how settings outside of education solve similar challenges to the ones we are working on. This year, we'll talk with Airbnb’s first Director of Diversity and Belonging, David King III, who is designing solutions to improve diversity and inclusion within an innovative Silicon Valley startup. David will provide an inside look into why and how they are embracing the challenge, and the impact on their product, platform, and user experience around the world.

Please join us, December 4-7th!
