Say YES to WRJ
Our Board discussed having an in-person event this summer but decided not to try to schedule something with the uncertainty of the pandemic still looming. This event would have involved a Fundraiser for WRJ’s YES Fund. The Youth, Education and Special Projects Fund combines donations from Sisterhoods and individuals to strengthen the Reform Movement. Here are just a few of the programs and organizations supported by the Fund that promote social justice and fight for a safer world:
Youth
Education
- Scholarships for rabbinical and cantorial studies are given to future leaders of Reform Judaism at seminaries and institutions around the world
Special Projects
Since we are not meeting in person, the Fundraising team is planning an exciting “Pop-up Shop” for August with some really great vendors. Stay tuned to hear about supporting the YES Fund by shopping!
Sincerely,
Lori Motis

Pay it Forward
Do you know that every sisterhood is saving $2 per member because of the generosity of Joanne Fried, a WRJ North America Board Member who is covering District dues for 3 years? What to do with all that extra cash??
The Atlantic District suggests that each sisterhood contribute the $2 per member and invest it in our youth by making a donation to the Jeanette Miriam Goldberg Youth Fund (JMG)! Send your contributions to: Atlantic District Treasurer, Ellen Mirbach at 6207 Meridian Blvd, Warrington, PA 19067
The Jeanette Miriam Goldberg Youth Fund is dedicated to supporting the youth of our district. Goldberg was a prominent and active member of both Temple Rodeph Shalom Sisterhood in Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Federation of Temple Sisterhoods (PFTS). She was greatly concerned with the welfare of Jewish youth. A fund was established in her name which currently donates money to the North American Federation of Temple Youth in the Atlantic District
As URJ Youth’s signature year-round program, more than 8,000 North American 6th-12th graders participate in the NFTY programs that teach compassion, fight injustice, engage with Israel, and build community. NFTY is the safe, home-away-from-home that inspires our teens to become their best selves and empowers them to change the world.

Every Voice, Every Vote!
There are months when there are just too many things that need our attention and actions. WRJ helps us focus on our high priority issues with E2A – Education to Action. Our next education opportunity will be June 14th, Active Allyship: Reform Jews Showing Up for Fundamental Rights, click here to register! Join Keshet, WRJ, and the RAC to learn how current trends in anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-abortion legislation and threats to bodily autonomy are interconnected and how we, as Jews, can be active allies and fight against these bills.
WRJ is also supporting and participating in the “I Wear Teal” campaign. Teal is the color of both sexual assault and PTSD awareness. Why would you wear teal? To be an ally? Because awareness is critical? Because a friend was assaulted? Let’s raise our own awareness.
Date to Save: September 20th WRJ launches WRJ Says STOP with the 1st webinar in the series.
Date to Note: June 27th – PTSD Awareness Day (wear teal!)
