Massimo Faraò studied with Maestro Flavio Crivelli and began his career collaborating with musicians from the Genoa Area, especially with the bassist Piero Leveratto. He has played in several European tours with the Nat Adderley Quintet, that featured Antonio Hart, Walter Booker and Jimmy Cobb. He has recorded more than 200 recordings with many Italian and foreign musicians as leader and sideman for labels like Red Records, Splash, Azzurra music, Concord Records and Venus Records. Mauricio is a critically acclaimed and award-winning drummer and artist. Since moving to New York City in 2006, he has become one of the most sought-after drummers on the Brazilian Jazz scene. Zottarelli is credited in more than 70 albums so far in his career and has worked and shared the stage with some of the most important and notable artists of today, crossing over many musical styles. Gene Perla Quartet
For over four decades Gene Perla has been a leader in the jazz world as a bassist, educator and the owner of two record labels. Perla played bass with Woody Herman's Orchestra, the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra, Sarah Vaughan, Elvin Jones and Sonny Rollins. In the mid-1970's Perla formed the PM (Perla Music) label and a little later also ran Plug. Perla formed the group Stone Alliance in 1975. In the years since Perla has remained active as both a bassist and as a jazz educator. Catch Gene Perla's exciting Quartet feat. Nicole Glover, tenor sax, Jon Ballantyne, piano and Alan Jones, drums at the Jazz Forum, Tarrytown on Sunday, April 22! Strong Music in the tradition of John Coltrane.

Portinho Quartet
Since moving from Brazil to the United States in the 1970s, Portinho has worked with many artists including Airto Moreira, Gato Barbieri, Harry Belafonte, Dom Salvador, Paquito de Rivera, Astrud Gilberto, Michel Camilo, and Tania Maria. He has recorded with everyone from Nancy Wilson to Michel Legrand and Ron Carter. Portinho has been the "go to" Brazilian drummer in New York for almost four decades.

Steve Slagle A.M. Quartet
Steve Slagle has made a name for himself in the jazz world as a saxophonist, flutist and composer. Ever since the late 1990s, Slagle has co-led a band with guitarist Dave Stryker. He has played with such diverse artists as Milton Nascimento, St. Vincent, Elvis Costello, the Beastie Boys, and Mac Rebennack (aka Dr. John). He has released 14 CD’s as a leader and performed on countless others. As a leader, Steve concentrates on new sounds and new compositions with his original voice. See the Steve Slagle A.M.
