Hello Friend,

In case you haven't figured it out by now, I am a Virgo through and through, so it should be no surprise that September is a big month for me, as well as for my family (that’s right - Mom, Dad and big brother were also all born in the organizationally gifted month of September).

This special month became even more significant for me two years ago. On September 14th (two days before my birthday), I walked out of an office building on Fifth Avenue and set out on my own taking Jeffrey Phillip, LLC from part-time affair to full-time reality. While it was a nerve-racking move, the unknown future seemed bright and full of opportunity. Today, after two years of independent success, I continue to be happy with my decision and grateful for being able to focus my career on my passions.

As I have grown up, birthdays have evolved from being about presents and cake to being a time for reflection, to take note of accomplishments and be grateful for the experiences I have had and the people who have come into my life. So, as I celebrate my 31st year and the 2nd year of working for myself, I want to thank you not only for your support but also for helping me follow my passions and dreams.

Even if it's not your birthday today, or this month, take a moment to pause and reflect on the past year and give yourself the recognition you deserve, as well as give thanks to those who have contributed to your life.

What do birthdays mean to you? Share with me on Twitter or Facebook.  I would love to hear!

Happy Birthday, Virgos and Happy Fall to everyone,

How To Organize Your Pantry

Sara Mercer - How to Organize Your PantryOver the summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to work with my friend, whole living guru Sara Jane Mercer, to help organize her pantry. Since Sara spends a large part of her day in the kitchen creating new recipes and discovering ways to help her clients eat more healthfully, having the right foods easily accessible is very important to her. (INSIDER TIP: Keeping your kitchen and pantry organized allows the proper foods and tools to be more accessible, which will ultimately lead to a healthier diet.)

After spending some time sorting, editing and labeling, we were able to create an organizational system which now allows Sara to always see what she has on hand, saving her time and money by not buying unnecessary duplicates. To learn about the great tips and tricks I taught Sara, a bit more about what she does, and to see the changes we made to improve her pantry, check out our quick and fun video.

mGiftsNo matter what the occasion, it is almost without fail that when a gift is needed, my mind goes blank. To help me beat these black out moments I recently began using the gift list app mGifts - Gift List Manager.

Yes, this app serves the same purpose as a pen and paper; however, now you don't have to worry about losing the list or not having it with you when you need it most. This easy-to-use app allows you to make notes immediately as you are shopping, browsing online, reading a magazine or being inspired by a friend’s new toy. You can arrange gift ideas by event, share them with friends, sort your shopping list by store, archive previous lists, back them up to the cloud, sync them across multiple devices and even password protect your ideas to keep everything hush-hush. This app will be sure to take your gift giving to the next level and leave you feeling organized and ready for any occasion!

WrappingStationYou may remember me talking about setting up a wrapping station for the holidays in order to make gift wrapping more simple, convenient and fun. However, what are you to do with all that gifting paraphernalia throughout the rest of the year when you need to wrap a gift?

The Gift Wrap Work Station from the Container Store is the perfect solution. This mobile work station allows you to neatly keep all of your gifting supplies from pens, to scissors, to up to 12 rolls of wrapping paper in a neatly designed frame that folds up for storage in the closet (a built-in hook allows you to hang it from the closet rod too). It is a solution that will make your life easier and leave your closet a little neater.
