Latest News: Benefit in aid of Unfinished Histories moving its Archive !!
We are very pleased to announce that the Unfinished Histories archive will be moving to Bishopsgate Institute.
The Bishopsgate Institute is situated opposite Liverpool Street station between the City and the East End.

Bishopsgate's world-renowned collections focus on London history, labour and socialist history, freethought and humanism, co-operation, and protest and campaigning and include the Lesbian and Gay Newspaper Archive and the Feminist Library ephemera collection. We feel it's the ideal place for us. The Unfinished Histories material will be kept in proper archival conditions while remaining accessible for exhibition and events and will be available for research in the Reading Room five days a week. With more space and proper conditions we can build the archive and offer a long-term home to archival material we have previously had to refuse. See below for how you can help with the removal costs and the work of packing, listing and carrying...
Re:Move Benefit

Siren
To help us with the costs of our move lesbian feminist band Siren, Rose Collis and Claire Dowie are very kindly performing in our Re:Move Benefit on June 19th, 7pm at the Pinter Studio, Queen Mary University, Mile End. All three began their careers as part of the alternative theatre scene. For more details and tickets click HERE. We you hope you can join us for this splendid evening's entertainment.

Please come along and support us - and tell your friends via Facebook, Twitter and other social media.
If you are unable to attend but would like to donate anyway you can do so via Brown Paper Tickets or via the Unfinished Histories Donations page.
Volunteers Needed to Help with Move
The move from our Bethnal Green office will take place in two stages, planned for Mon 13th June and Mon 18th July.
On those days we will need people to help wrap frames, pack books and carry boxes and plan-chests.
In the days beforehand (Mondays but also some additional days tbc) we will need help listing books and packing boxes. If you are able to help even for a few hours, we would love to hear from you: contact@unfinishedhistories.com
Lenders
Note to those who have lent items to Unfinished Histories for exhibitions, scanning etc. If you haven't already heard from us about your loan items, we will be contacting you about these. If collection is not arranged before the move, they will continue to be held on a loan basis by Unfinished Histories in secure conditions. If you have any questions or if you want to give the items to be held as part of the UH Archive of the alternative theatre movement at Bishopsgate, please contact us.
Other News
We are holding most other news items over to a future newsletter but due to its imminent start would like to draw your attention to UH volunteer Juley Smith's rescheduled Pop Up exhibition on Black British theatre Scenes to Believe! by her organisation Precious and Preserved at the Bernie Grant Centre Wed 1st to Sat 4th June with talks on The Business of Show Business and Ira Aldridge.

Meanwhile you can still see our exhibition Theatre for Radical Change at the Arcola Theatre...
Best wishes
