Give yourself a wellness vacation!

Adventure ToursYou may not know it but CPS faculty and staff have a great travel resource available to them in their own back yard: UWSP Adventure Tours. “Wellness is our focus - enjoying adventure activities such as hiking, biking, snorkeling, rafting and much more!" says Trevor Roark, program manager. Tours in 2012 include Costa Rica, Vieques, Puerto Rico, Isle of Man, Grand Canyon and Switzerland and most are led by current faculty. Marty's Message

One of the best parts of working at a university is that each school year is a new beginning. It is a fresh start that we all use to reflect on the past and make changes for the future. Now is the time when colleges, departments, faculty and staff, and even our students take time to recommit to past directions and set new goals.
For our faculty, a new academic year is an opportunity to plan new pedagogies, revise curricula and apply great new ideas. A large number of our faculty and staff have already registered for the upcoming SMART Board training. This is an excellent example of how our teachers are preparing to make their classrooms even better.
To improve myself, this year I would like to listen more, learn more, tell our story better and appreciate our people more thoughtfully. I would also like to meet our state budget challenges head-on, pursue the strategic direction that UWSP has set for us, and bring inclusive excellence to the forefront of CPS.
In less than a month we will welcome our colleagues and students back for another year, and we will be ready to make full use of the opportunities that new-year brings.
