Spring Season Is Scholarship Season

School of Business and Economics ScholarshipThe spring season is scholarship season across campus and in the College of Professional Studies. In the 2010 calendar year, the CPS gave out over $80,000 in scholarships to 131 of our students and the largest of these scholarships was $5,000. As the students are getting ready for summer, it is a good time to reflect on the importance of creating these special opportunities for students. It is a wonderful thing to know that you can change the life of students. Everyone in the CPS extends a warm thank you for creating these opportunities for UWSP students and we are looking forward to a better future.

Marty's Message

When I think about my days as a college student, I have both painful and fond memories of finals week. I remember studying through the night and trying to predict what was going to be on the final, hoping my professor would give me the benefit of the doubt.
As a teacher, with preparation and grading, finals week was challenging as well.
My best advice this week is to have empathy for yourselves and for what students are going through and try to make their finals experience as positive as possible. Challenge them, yet understand it can be a difficult week for everyone.
Marty Loy
Dean, CPS
