ROTC cadets train at Fort Lewis
UWSP Military Science
has nine ROTC cadets who are attending their capstone training exercise this summer at Fort Lewis, Wash. Over 6,800 cadets from across the country, as well as Britain and Slovakia, will be evaluated on their leadership abilities while attending this training. In addition to their academic scores over the past three years, this training will help determine which career field these cadets will enter when they graduate and commission. Frank O'Brien earns NCAA Division III West Region AD of the Year award
The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced the 28 winners of the Under Armour AD of the Year Award (ADOY). Retired UW-Stevens Point Director of Athletics Frank O’Brien
took home the NCAA Division III West Region honor.
Interior Architecture welcomes Aaron Kadoch
Aaron Kadoch will join the Division of Interior Architecture this fall as an assistant professor. Kadoch is an architect with a broad range of professional design experience including architecture and landscape architecture, with a special focus on organic architecture. His interests are in quality design, craftsmanship, and building technology for creating sustainable buildings and site design. Kadoch holds a master's of architecture degree from the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture in Taliesin.
UWSP offers Globalization Workshop for high school teachers
Teachers of high school history, social studies, and economics will learn practical classroom skills for educating students on globalization
at a workshop offered by UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday, June 29. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the UWSP-Wausau Center at 200 Washington Street, Suite 100, in downtown Wausau. Sponsored by UWSP’s Center for Economic Education and Economics Wisconsin, the interdisciplinary workshop will give teachers lessons and exercises they can use in their classrooms that address Wisconsin Model Academic Standards for social studies in economics. UWSP professor of economics Tracy Hofer, who runs the UWSP Center for Economic Education, has organized the workshop.
