UW-Stevens Point student-athletes have higher retention and graduation rates

Student-AthletesStudent-athletes at the UWSP are staying in school and graduating at statistically higher rates than nonathletes. According to data compiled this summer, 88 percent of Pointers student-athletes stayed enrolled between their first and second year in 2010 and 2011. Read More

CPS-Continuing Education recently approved two program development grant proposals for a total in the School of Health Promotion & Human Development and the Division of Interior Architecture. Kelly Schoonaert received a grant to begin an online course called Advanced Coaching Technique: Motivational Interviewing, while Aaron Kadoch and Katja Marquardt were awarded a grant to develop a 9-12 credit Certificate in Sustainable Design Practices.

Another opportunity is available for faculty as the new UWSP Center for Collaborative and Interactive Technologies (CCIT) plans to open spring semester. CCIT is now accepting applications for Tech Select Faculty. The Tech Select program provides monthly training for chosen faculty in a wide variety of educational technologies. In addition to monthly training and collaboration and support with other faculty in the College of Professional Studies, Tech Select faculty will receive an iPad and a stipend of $1,000.
