Hiking in Southern Africa

a delectable selection of our favourite hiking trails

How better to experience a destination than on foot? You experience nature and your surroundings close and personal and also have a better chance of meeting the locals.
Our overnight hiking trails fall into the category “slackpacking”, which means that hikers only need to carry their daypacks, the rest of their belongings are transported by the team to the daily destination, where camp has already been set up. Also, all meals are catered for.
BOLENG has a collection of such hiking trails in southern Africa. Whether over a couple of days or just for a couple of hours, everything is possible. Here is a small selection of our favourites…
The scenery surrounding this area is very impressive. This 4-day hike takes you over the Gabriel Pass, from one small Moravian village to the next. En-route marvel at interesting rock formations and visit an ancient SAN rock art site. Your local guide, who grew up in this area, shares his knowledge with you.  Accommodation in small community run guesthouses, situated in Moravian villages along the way.
