Here! Have some more time.

A business peer once mentioned that she received more than a hundred emails a day and that she hit the delete button on most of them.

Some of the emails came from blogs she had subscribed to in recent years. The content was no longer valuable, so she didn’t make the time to read it. Delete.

Purchasing products online using a work email address (instead of a personal email address) had led to even more emails. Now sales-related emails show up all the time from those merchants and other companies she didn’t even buy from. Delete, delete, delete.

Every day was a process of receive, scan, delete and repeat—this will sound familiar to many of you.

Simple steps to reclaim your time

Is it time to quit Facebook marketing?

What would it feel like to break up with Facebook?

Sometimes, breaking up is hard to do, especially when you’ve been together for such a long time – we all used to be in love with Facebook – but it’s possible! You could ease in, considering it a trial separation for the next three months.

During that time, you can explore and test one other digital marketing platform to see if it generates more activity on your website and brings more customers to your door than Facebook has been doing.

Three good replacements

Commas aren't thrilling, but they're important.

When you include information in a sentence that isn’t strictly needed, use commas to set it off.

“The construction worker, John Smith, was never late for a job.”

Removing the name from the sentence doesn’t change the overall meaning. Thus, it should be set off with commas.

“Construction worker John Smith was never late for a job.”

See how the name is important? If you remove it, you get an incomplete sentence. No commas needed in this case.

Become a comma genius!

What PRC has been working on:

Helping out (in yummy ways). Patti got the change to help serve Moo-wich ice cream sandwiches one night at the Northwest Washington Fair this year in Lynden. It was tons of fun! She gave four hours of her time and left with a heart filled with gratitude -- for the experience, for the people and organizations that provide these opportunities, and for our wonderful community. 🥰 The next time an opportunity to serve comes along, say YES!

Going on a summer trip! The writing, editing, graphic design and web maintenance work Matthew does for PR Consulting allows him to work from home and even take short vacations on occasion without missing a beat. Right now, Matthew and the family are wrapping up a short trip to a couple different cities in Mexico. Here's hoping you, too, have had an amazing summer!
