Love Them or Hate Them - Just Do Them
It’s that time of year. You’re either making a list of New Year’s Resolutions, business goals or personal goals;
OR you’re thinking that you should be and feeling guilty;
OR you’re sort of irritated with the people who are talking about them.
I use an easy, effective template for making goals. I employ it in my work with my individual clients and with my teams. Here it is:
By ________(date) I will ________(action) so that _________(deliverable/something happens). Example: By June 1, 2012, I will have attended 12 networking meetings so that I will have met at least eight people who are potential referral sources for me.
Try it and let me know how it works for you. One of the advantages of working with an experienced business coach like me is that you have someone to help you to prioritize your long “To Do” list, create goals for the most important ones, and then create a realistic, one-step-at-a-time action plan that shifts your feeling of overwhelm into action. Most importantly, you have someone to hold you accountable.
Resolve to give me a call to set up a half-hour, free consultation to talk about what we can accomplish together in 2012.
Let’s make 2012 your best year yet!
