Tweeting Farmers, A Pork Sale, a new recipe, pig rearing, and going for the Q Mark

Have you heard of the Farmers Feed Families campaign?  It is a simple message really - we all need farmers, otherwise we wouldn't be eating! The first element of the campaign is to try to encourage more people to follow tweeting farmers to discover what farm life is really like, and also to encourage more farmers to tweet.  We had the launch of the campaign here at Oldfarm at the beginning of the month.  If you're on twitter you can follow along @tweetingfarmers

Pork Sale

Well it will be pork and bacon actually!  We have some more pigs to go off to  pastures in the sky and need to make room for stock!  So... here's your chance!!!

Tuesday next, 26th June, for 1 day only (and while stocks last) we will have a sale of our produce.  Everything at €10 per kg.  You can order as much or as little as you want (the €10 delivery charge will still apply).  

Sorry we have no sausages... but we have roasts, ribs, rashers, etc. etc.

Are you 'staycationing' this year?  If you are holidaying in Ireland and are in the North Tipperary area.... we invite any, and all of our lovely customers, to come stop by and have a cup of tea!  Just give us a bit of notice and we'll have the kettle on.  Directions here.

Pig Rearing Courses

The number of people wanting to learn about pigs continues to increase!  So much so that our courses are booked out almost before we tell you about them!!!  Our next course is Sunday, 28th July here at Oldfarm from 11 - 4.  â‚¬60 including lunch.  Book here

We're in a split dilemma here on whether to continue for the Bord Bia 'q' mark!!!  Would love your opinion.  Does the 'Q" Mark influence your shopping decisions? Leave a comment please :)
Alfie's Pork Burger

Alfie has been tweaking and adjusting this recipe for possibly the past year. He is now satisfied that it is right and willing to share it with you!

They are particularly delicious when barbecued :)
Just a reminder that deliveries can now be scheduled to arrive to your home Tuesday through to Friday.  We have changed our ordering system.... no order is too small!
