Harvest time

We are harvesting

It is the time of year for harvesting and preserving and we are doing lots.  We've had bumper crops of certain things, and then poor crops of others, but that's the joy of gardening.

We've had lots of figs this year which are totally delicious! You'll find some of the recipes we've been using here.

Looking forward to attending lots of events during the Shorelines Festival in Portumna this weekend.  Also so delighted to be able to meet up with a fellow blogger who so far I've only met on line!  Anyone else going?

We've had another really busy month with our AirBnB guests, some of whom I suspect may well become friends. :)

Check out this video link that one of our guests, Claire, sent us.... it is beautifully done.

And then... here is a really corny Irish joke told to us by Lindy, an American guest (by the way we did laugh it is so so bad)!!!

What do you call an Irish person who stays outside all winter?

Pati O'Furniture

I warned you!
Probably our last course of 2013... so if you want to learn about pigs, nows the time to book your place.

Just €60 for the day (including lunch).... and lots, and lots of knowledge about pigs.

Farmers Feed Families

You will remember the 'Tweeting Farmers' back in June well there's a new campaign... Love Food? Love Farmers!  And we're delighted to feature in a lovely article.
I am so excited!  I won a ticket to attend the Travel Bloggers European Conference (TBEX) which is being held in Dublin next month. :)  I'm sure I'll have lots to tell you about it after the event.  Is anyone else going?
I cannot believe I am introducing Christmas to you in September! However, orders for hams are already coming in!  If you'd like to order yours email me.
We have plenty of pork at the moment and will back in full stock of bacon in coming weeks.
