A $21,000 Swish with Listerine to Support SAA

Listerine has partnered with OHA to promote its 21 Day Challenge campaign, which challenges Americans to get healthier gums by swishing with Listerine twice a day for 21 days. Film and TV star Ginnifer Goodwin kicked off the challenge with The $21,000 Swish, which led to a contribution by Listerine to OHA's Smiles Across America® (SAA) program. In addition, Listerine will donate $6.40 for every person who signs up for the 21 Day Challenge on the company's Facebook page. Read the official press release for more information and don't forget to sign up on Facebook to support SAA!

February Focus on Healthy Mouths for Kids

February is a big month for children's oral health, with both National Children's Dental Health Month (NCDHM) and Give Kids a Smile Day (GKAS) taking place. OHA is proud to celebrate NCDHM and GKAS with the American Dental Association to bring attention to the importance of oral health for children this month and year-round. For resources on how to participate in NCDHM, including free posters and activity sheets for kids, please visit the ADA website.

Getting to Know Our SAA Partners

As much as we love supporting our Smiles Across America® (SAA) partners, we love hearing about the work they're doing to bring oral health care to children even more. We've heard from several SAA partners recently via thank you letters, and in honor of National Children's Dental Health Month, we'd like to highlight some of the stories they shared with us.

Bringing Healthy Mouths to America's Teens

Care Credit recently provided a grant to OHA to support efforts to expand Smiles Across America to adolescents. As a result, the Huntridge Teen Clinic in Las Vegas will receive a grant to help provide dental care to uninsured and at-risk teenagers. Raymundo, pictured above, is one teen who was helped by the clinic and is now studying to become a dental hygienist. Thank you, Care Credit, for your generosity!

Supporting Physical Education

OHA recently signed a letter with the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance supporting the PHYSICAL Act, a bill being introduced into Congress that requires physical and health education in schools. Contact your members of Congress today and ask them to support this legislation.
