OHA Teams with the American Dental Hygienists' Association!

The American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) and Oral Health America announced a new partnership at the ADHA's Annual Session in Phoenix June 15-17.  OHA also exhibited at the session, shown above with Julie Janssen and Mary Pat Burgess, who received the ADHA Excellence in Dental Hygiene Award. OHA has had long term relationships with hygienists in relationship to Smiles Across America®, and now we are expanding that with our MOU on older adult oral health. Mileidy's Commitment to Older Adults

Dental hygienist Mileidy Tavarez thought she had found her career passion in pediatric dentistry.  She got started helping kids in Florida over nine years ago when she was just 14 years old.  Now, at age 23, she’s had experience in several dental and orthodontic offices, but always with a focus on children’s oral health.  It was a niche that worked, but her inquisitive nature meant that she couldn’t settle just yet.  Learn how Mileidy got her start in older adult care with Smiles Across America® partner MORE HEALTH and how her creative education program is setting precedence.

Smiles Across America Embraces the Benefits of Sealants

Find out how Larry Clark (pictured above), Director of Clinical Affairs and Marketing for Pulpdent, recently educated Product Donation partners about the benefits of using Embrace, how you can become a SAA partner and receive Pulpdent's Embrace sealant.

Dr. Jill Baskin, Oral Health Director at The Children's Clinic, accepted the award from the Erie Family Health Center. Congratulations to The Children’s Clinic!

Bringing Water Fluoridation to Wichita

Water fluoridation has helped reduce tooth decay in this country by 18 to 40 percent, but not every community has it. Wichita is the fourth largest city in the nation without community water fluoridation and now a coalition of physicians, pediatricians, dentists, and individuals are trying to change that. Wichitans for Healthy Teeth is advocating that the Wichita City Council act to protect the health of its people by instituting community water fluoridation. Visit the coalition's website to find out more about their cause and how you can help.
