OHA Participates in Historic Multi-Cultural Oral Health Summit

The Hispanic Dental Association, the National Dental Association and the Society of American Indian Dentists (SAID) held their Annual Meeting in Boca Raton, Fla. June 20-24. Known collectively as the Multi-Cultural Oral Health Summit, this is the first time all three organizations have held a conference together. OHA's Beth Truett and Melissa Hoebbel attended with OHA sponsoring the HDA and NDA Student Scrapbook Competition and awarding the winners (some pictured above) at the Student Gala and Awards Ceremony. The scrapbook competition allowed local chapter student members to document what their chapter does over the course of a year, from officer meetings to community service. Congratulations to the winners and to the HDA, NDA, and SAID for a successful conference.

Planning for the Future

It's never too soon to plan for the future, and that's exactly what OHA staff did during its annual retreat earlier this month. Held at the Q Center in St. Charles, staff members gathered together to discuss the future of OHA's programs and how to continue to grow as an organization. We look forward to bringing the ideas discussed here to life connect communities with resources for all Americans, especially those most vulnerable.
