Dear Workers United Members,
I am writing as a rank-and-file member of WU Local 154 (Woodgreen Community Services) to ask for your help.
Since April 7, nearly 100 servers, bussers, and hostesses have been out on strike in Niagara Falls. They are bravely fighting against sexual harassment in the workplace and wage theft through management taking their tips.
The victory of this strike would greatly inspire all workers and would set an important precedent for fair wages and safe working conditions, especially within the service industry.
We are reaching out to our membership, fellow trade unionists, and community activists to join us on Sunday, June 9, 2019 for 10am at Chester Subway TTC Station for a solidarity caravan to Niagara.
Please reply now to RSVP! This will be a family friendly event, so feel free to bring your kids and friends.
We will be coordinating carpools, and if there is a large enough turnout through RSVPs, we may even be able to organize a bus.
Please contact us if you can attend and let us know if you have space in your vehicle or if you would need a ride.

Please join us in supporting the courageous restaurant workers at the Rainforest Cafe in Niagara Falls who have been seeking a first contract for over a year. They have been out on strike since April 7.
They are fighting against greed. They are fighting for their right to organize. They are fighting for fairness, for respect and for a safe workplace where sexual assault will not be tolerated.
